Mission

      Conduct suicide research, provide clinical services, train clinical personnel, collaborate with related agencies to develop regional and national suicide prevention plans and monitor their execution, increase public awareness of suicide to decrease the national suicide rate.

Goals

•    Study characteristics of suicides, evaluate effectiveness of various preventive measures.


•    Improve the quality and widen the scope of centers’clinical services


•    Provide technical support for clinicians, administrators and researchers throughout
     the country who are working in the area of suicide prevention.


•    Develop effective urban and rural models for suicide prevention


•    Increase public awareness of the public health importance of suicide.


•    Reduce rate of suicide and attempted suicide in China by 20% within the next eight years,
     thus saving 50,000 to 60,000 lives and preventing 400,000 suicide attempts per year.
